Office 365 Support

Corbel solutions can help you keep your Microsoft 365 costs as low as possible following the recent Microsoft price rise on their 365 plans– but now is the time to act.

Microsoft are launching a new platform for purchasing and managing your 365 licences called the New Commerce Experience (NCE), as part of this change there are alterations to the way you will manage your subscriptions as well as some significant price increases.

We want to help you understand the Microsoft price rise and what we can do to assist you managing the transition and ultimately how you can minimise the impact on your current 365 license bill.

What’s Changing

  • Subscriptions will be based on a Term Period from 1st March 2022 (Monthly, Yearly or Multiyear Contracts)
  • Whilst in term you can no longer decrease your 365 licences you can only upgrade
  • For monthly commitments you will see price rises of up to 25%
  • At the end of the specified term there will be a 72-hour window to renew the subscription after which you are tied to the new term
  • In addition, there is a price increase across the board of between 5 to 20% in March 2022 depending on your term commitment (Some Plans are excluded from this)

What does it mean!

It is very likely that the way you licence your business now needs to change and due to these changes, that you will require a Hybrid approach to your licensing model with a mixture of monthly, annual, and multiyear contracts.

What do I need to do?

  1. The first step is to review your current 365 licences and make sure that they cover only the mailboxes that need to be licensed.  (Can you take advantage of free shared mailboxes, have you removed licences for people that have left your company?)
  2. Is everyone on the right plan for their role in your business?
  3. Review the changes on your total number of employees over previous years – has this gone up or down or largely stayed the same?
  4. Develop a strategy individual to your business of Monthly, Annual and Multi Year subscriptions based on this review.
  5. Commit to the new terms to allow you to lock in your current pricing where possible. (Hybrid is likely to work best and will give you the most flexibility)

Hybrid of Monthly and Yearly commitments to give the maximum flexibility and the most cost-effective cost of ownership.
