Corporate History

Corbel Solutions  were previously part of the Getech Group of companies and were known as Getech Solutions until 2013. The original offices were in Farthing Road in Ipswich and as the business grew and evolved we moved to our current Knightsdale Road offices in 1996.

Getech who were originally part of the Getronics group of companies were established in 1990 and run by Directors based within the Head Office in Ipswich. All of Getech’s original Directors worked for a large local IT provider called Mellordata at the time and after an unsuccessful management buyout from the Sketchley group of companies the Getech Group was formed in 1989.  Getech undertook an MBO of the group of companies in 2003.

Getech Solutions were part of the diverse Getech group and offered IT Solutions and support services to local businesses, throughout the years this division has grown in size and a decision was taken in 2013 to set-up Corbel Solutions as a separate company within the group.  In 2016 a successful MBO was undertaken and the company is now run and owned by the Corbel Board.

In 2010 Corbel on client demand added into the portfolio and set-our first 20 seat Workplace Recovery facility in our head office in Ipswich.  As the business continued with expansion in 2012 we opened a further facility in Needham Market that allowed us to offer an additional 40 seats.  In 2013 due to additional requirements for expansion we moved this facility to our current Claydon office to allow us to offer 200 seats in total across the two sites. (Ipswich and Claydon)

In 2016 Corbel has continued with planned expansion and have added two new employees to the well-established technical team and two new employees into our customer service and Sales teams.
