Introducing Lewis Mann, Corbel’s new Apprentice IT Technician The Corbel Blog Written by Corbel on 4th February 2016. Excellent news, Lewis Mann has taken up the position as Corbel’s new Apprentice IT Technician. We’re looking forward to seeing Lewis progress with us, bringing with him a drive and determination to do well for Corbel. After completing my studies at Sixth Form and my ICT A Level, I began my first Apprenticeship working with computers. This included lots of work around wiring and working with electronics. Although I enjoyed the work I was doing, the company I was working for weren’t offering me the learning opportunities I craved, so I started looking for a new opportunity. From my first month working with Corbel, I can see they are a really professional organisation. Being part of a larger company in Getech is an advantage, allowing our customers to benefit from increased purchasing power and at the same time we’re still able to offer a personalised service. The staff are really friendly and working closely with our Technical Consultants, Richard Ambrose, David Rew and our Technical Support Manager, Aaron McErleane, who have all worked in the industry for a long time, I am learning new things every day. The industry moves at a fast pace and I’m enjoying the challenge of working with different types of computers and telephony systems. Completing site surveys around Networking, we’re finding other areas in which we can improve the clients existing infrastructure. Within my role I will be working across IT, Telephony and Networking supporting Richard, David and Aaron. This will incorporate work within the office and visiting customer sites, supporting the team with jobs. I’m looking forward to learning more and the extra support I offer will allow our clients to benefit from an even better service. So far the most enjoyable aspect of my role has been running wiring and completing CAT 5 terminations. In my spare time I work with computers, putting specifications together to build PC’s and follow Liverpool Football Club. Living in Ipswich, I play a lot of football and enjoy riding my bike.
